air cooling

The Klaus air cooling system consists of a axial flow fan, a fan case with integrated air distributor and the Klaus cylinder head backside cooling.

With it's third step of evolution the Klaus fan case delivers the same amount of air to every cylinder - all together with a lower power consumption. The advantages are quite clear:

  • longer engine life

  • no thermally overloading of the left engine side

  • cleaner exhaust fumes as a result of equal cylinder temperatures

  • no oil leakage at the left cylinder head

  • lower enviromental pollution

  • higher power output

  • Klaus cylinder head backside cooling

  • air flow with the Klaus RSK

  • airflow in the cylinder head

Especially for engines with higher power output we offer the Klaus cylinder head backside cooling ( german: Klaus RückSeitenKühlung RSK). The thermally high stressed cylinder head backside is directly fed with cold air. This means a significant lower temperature at the cylinder head sealing surface close to the exhaust port. Results are:

  • no thermally induced deformation of the cylinder heads

  • lower engine knock tendency

  • no cracks in the exhaust port

  • a higher power output is possible

  • In addition with the covering lid the Klaus belt pulley cover prevents rising of hot air into the engine compartment

  • The belt pulley is available in aluminum and steel.

  • Covering lids for gear box and muffler side of the engine compartment. Vibration dampening and light, made of glasfibre reiinforced plastics.

  • The additional cooling fins to weld on increase the cylinder head's cooling surface.
